According to media reports, the districts of Charsadda, Nowshera, and Shabqadar are now at risk of experiencing significant flooding because the headwaters of the Munda River were washed away during the Swat and Lower Dir flood events.


After the Munda headworks near the Charsadda district collapsed on August 26 around 11 p.m. owing to flood water, Charsadda, Nowshera, and the neighbouring districts are definitely at risk of flooding. The government advises leaving your home and relocating to the camps it has established in order to save your life and the lives of your loved ones.

Due to the threat of floods, the Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was previously also declared to be in a state of emergency.

The biggest flood in the Kabul River is feared for Nowshera, according to Deputy Commissioner Nowshera. The water flow in the Kabul River near Nowshera is forecast to rise to 3 lakh to 4 lakh 10,000 cusecs in the upcoming 24 to 48 hours. Consequently, there is a chance of producing a situation that is more dangerous than the flood of 2010. In this case, it was announced that the district would go into emergency mode and that all private educational institutions, hospitals, private buildings, and private vehicles would continue to be directly under the administrative supervision of the district administration.


People in Nowshera Kalan, Khatakle, Police Lines, Amangarh, Dhobi Ghat, Alam Garden, Osmania, and Zahra Mina, close to the Kabul River, have reportedly been told to leave their homes and find a secure place to live, according to Deputy Commissioner Nowshera. According to him, there are only 3 to 4 hours left to get people out of the regions that have been labelled dangerous; beyond that, it will be challenging to get them out. All individuals are urged to assist with the administration in order to save lives by carrying what they can and evacuating the vulnerable populations of the old, women, and children.
